Fellows what is the story about sand bass on Fork?? I have caught a few over a period of time but I can't find them with any regularity. It would seem such a fertile lake with so much shad available would have schools ..

Same here. In the years past I could find schools of white bass, but have had no luck so far this year in those same spots. I would like to know where they are this year. All the bass fishermen hate them and wish they weren't in Lake Fork, but they are tight lipped about where they find them. If they'd share, we could catch and remove some of them from Lake Fork.

Had a neighbor two doors down who fished Fork regularly . He is an avid bass fisherman and boasted to me of throwing dozens of white bass on the bank each time he fished Fork. Maybe not the entire answer, however a plausible solution as to why ! He is not the only bass fisherman to do so !

In May there were tons of big ones under the 515 bridge chasing shad.

Those fish under the bridge in May are eating the shad. The shad go to the bridge pilings to eat the algae off of the pilings and the sandbass follow them there. That can be some great and wild catching for sandbass. 👍👍

The shad do the same on shallow submerged bridges and hard roadbeds. Gene, do you think the same might be true for submerged timber?
