I’m looking at a new Ranger RB200, 20’ aluminum, center console, 150hp Merc, 80lb (I think) minn kota. I like the size and definitely the price point.
Does anyone have any opinions or personal experience with one of these boats (or even the 190)? I’d like to know how it handles bigger water. All I can find online are Ranger promo’s and other people clearly sponsored by Ranger and all the rah-rah [censored]. Typically when I buy I new toy I look at the rating first, then read all the negative reviews second so I have a good picture.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

While I've never been on one I have owned a Ranger. What Ranger does best is build bass boats. The RB 200 looks to me as its a bass boat converted to a CC.Personally I'd stick with the guys who've been building great bay boats from the beginning,Blue Wave,Mako,Scout......so no and so forth.Just my .02 cents, and to be completely transparent I do own a Blue Wave 220 Classic and I do not for one minute miss that Ranger, but it was a bass boat not a bay boat

Ranger just stuck their name on someone else's hull. Start there.

There are some really good builders that any of which will be far superior to any, and I mean ANY of the mass built stamped out hulls.

Just start with one of these,
Boatright
Scandy-White
Empire
