Has anybody went through the process of getting prescription Costa sunglasses? I had a pair that I loved but have since been wearing prescription glasses.
I want the 580G green mirror lenses. What do I have to do and what about is it going to run me?

I got the impression the doctor handled it turn key for his.

I’ve gone through the process. You’ll need a prescription from your optamologist.

Yep, what everyone is saying with your eye doctor. I think my buddy said it ended up being almost double for a set of prescription fishing glasses.

I got a prescription from the optometrist and ordered online from Framesdirect. I think the last pair was around $650 for the green tinted glass lenses for single vision ( I only needed distance). Pretty sure I was able to use my HSA card from work to cover them.

if you are a veteran you can buy some excellent ones thru the in house optometrist in bonham.
I got no line bifocals (oops, wrong idea) that looked a lot like my costas I had, blue glass lens with as good polarization as costas had.
less than 250.00 4 yrs. ago.
all she needs is your rx and will order them.
regular single vision glasses are only 29.00 with wire frames.
they come from a 3rd party that sells thru the va.
pretty sure she will take orders over the phone.

I got my dad some but its been a while back. I found a local eye doctor that sold Costas and went thru them. All he needed was his prescription and then just picked what frames and lenses he wanted I did the same thing for myself about 5 years ago or so. Got Costa Corbina from a local optician in Dallas that carries Costa. Gave him my prescription and he got me the prescription sunglasses. I don't like progressive lenses so I got the poly lenses with bi-focal lenses. I think back then they were about $550. I really liked my Costa sunglasses. Now I have Ray Ban since the optometrist I go to carries that brand. Don't really like them as much as I did my Costas but they do the job and don't cost me as much. And next year I will most likely get cataract surgery and not need prescription glasses. If/when that happens, I think I'm going to try Wiley X sunglasses. They have good reviews and are not as expensive as Costa, and they also offer prescription ready sunglasses. After having said all that though, if you have plenty of money and like progressive prescription, as I saw someone else on this thread say, the Costa 580G are the clearest lenses you will ever get!

I have 2 pair of prescription Costas and 1 pair of Maui Jims, yes you go through a authorized Costa dealer. Depending on what frame and lenses, you can get polycarbonate or glass lenses, it will run you $750 to $1,000 and if you need bifocals expect over a thousand per pair. The Maui Jim will cost you a grand for single vision and over $1,250 easily for bifocals.
