Ranger 188 recirculating pump stopped up. Removed pump and found [censored] in bowl, thought I would replace pump since it was 6 years old rule 403 800 gallon bought and installed. Then put all back together. But the stream out into live well was very small. Took apart again put pump with bowl into a five gallon bucket water pressure from pump was great. Checked all hoses for blockage or a restricted hose. Did not find anything glaring. On the bowl , where pump runs, the threaded tube is very short, maybe two threads hold the bowl to the diverting valve. When I removed bowl I did notice some black tape around the short threads . I’m thinking that this is allowing pump to suck air not water. Hoping for some assurance that I’m on the right trail. Going to replace the divertor valve as it has become hard to move with the cable by drivers seat, I don’t want to replace that cable Hope this is article is understandable Any idea will be appreciated Thanks
Fishing and Dogs, how much fun can one old guy have !!!

I think it has to be a watertight and airtight seal to purge the system to enable the proper water flow.
