Ok.... Tatula Elite with the SV spool and T-wing system. Better? No. Because the elite does not have an SV spool. It won’t even fit.

The Daiwa Tatula TW-S you can set up to cast a bait a long way without thumbing the spool at all. I have taught many people that have trouble backlashing a reel how to throw it. It is easier to set up than the reels that have a chip in them in them that is supposed to help with backlashing. TW means T wing and it gives you a wider area for the line to go through than the standard round hole on most reels.
It is just you, the Daiwa SV TWS is an awesome reel, best anti backlash reel on the market. You have to know how to set up it correctly but it is not that hard to do. Simple actually .
I can teach you how to set one up if you want. I have taught 13 year old kids how to set one up. Agree completely.

I'm not a fan of any diawa reel at all. I think they uncomfortable and extremely touchy. Yeah you can dial them in but as I palm mine the dial is constantly getting turned. Loosen the spool tension knob almost completely, set the magnet to 10 (11 at the most) and let it rip. Easiest reel there is to cast.

I have tatula sv tw. When I stop the spool with my thumb it has a slight rattle. Someone told me it was the sv drum releasing from the magnets.It started when I removed the left side plate to oil the bearing. Anyone have a solution, or smoething I should . Thanks

Thanks I would take the side plate off and inspect the oil / grease used. These reels don't need a slathering of oil / grease. Just one drop goes a long way. Also check to see if you have any washers out of place.

So Frank, you said you dislike the T wing, so what do you like about the small hole on other reels for a line guide? How is that design better?

I am hardcore shimano only..... but I did buy a daiwa zillion sv tw 1016 and let me tell you..... I love that freaking thing sure it is upgrade to the max and will cast a country mile. I hate the TW design it will always mess up the line lay on the spool always one side or the other. I thought it was a pawl or pawl shaft or even the TW itself not its just the design lol

I use Shimano, Daiwa, and Lews so my reels have both designs of a line guide on the reel and I don't have issues with any of them. Not sure what the problem is. I don't have any.

If I had to give my Tatula’s one bad aspect it would have to be that the T wing does not like any line tied together. Like braid to Fluorocarbon. The knot seems to hang on the T wing and it does not take long for it to rub it into a fuzz ball.
