Decades ago, when I started fishing for records and using certified scales, I found that many of the commonly used hanging scales are extremely inaccurate. I currently carry a 300-pound postal scale and 10-pound postal floor scale to weigh fish. Both are certified annually. I have seen many records lost over inaccurate scales. And I was also amazed how much smaller the fish became once I started using certified scales. roflmao

You can change them to read pounds & hundredths. Take your 10# weight to a grocery store and weigh it on the meat scales.

When I replaced my broken one my number one priority was the new scale had to take either AA or 9v batteries. No more expensive or hard to find wafer garage door opener batteries!!!

I've been using the Rapala 50lb Digital Scale for years.

Make sure you don’t store this scale with the battery. As the battery will end up leaking and cause the scale to fail.

I keep 2 in the boat for fast comparison if needed, so far I have not needed to. roflmao

I used the Rapala 15lb scale for years and my weights were always dead on with certified scales.

I now have a Rapala 50lb scale, and I usually weigh in about 1 lb more than what the scale measures on a 20 lb sack.

But its consistent enough that the weights recorded on the scale itself has always agreed with the balance beam, when comparing 2 fish of similar size.

I caught my 2nd 10# fish earlier this year. It weighed 10.11 on my scale, it does bother me a little that that fish was probably closer to 10.5 and I'll now never know the true weight......................., but in a tournament it does its job.

I’ve had the same one for 10 years, looks like it should work but never had a need for it.

I got the new bubba pro series scale. Stupid expensive, but I actually love it. I've hated every scale I've owned for one reason or another prior to this one.
