Doing so would make for fast bites initially after reopening... would quickly cool down. The fish would not be bigger.

As I posted in another thread about this same issue.

Guys, fishing has dropped off at all the lakes I've hit for the last year. Bottom line is Covid got way more people out on the water and the tournaments have gotten too large in numbers and too frequent. My home lake is Palestine and the quality of fish, that I have caught, has dropped off tremendously in the last year. I captain a high school bass team and we can place in the top 50 if we can catch 1 keeper in most tournaments and I don't see it getting any better. Enjoy your time on the water and take a kid fishing!

Terrible idea. No one shut Ivie down and look what it is producing. Do you really want see all the supporting businesses in the area go under? These folks stay in business because of the fisherman. They have put money blood and tears into their businesses and been there for us thru good and bad.

No they aren't going to close the lake. But with fishing being bad are the businesses not going to suffer. Fishermen want to catch fish, if it's not happening on lake A then they and their money goes to lake B. With that being said what is the answer? STOP spraying every sprig of grass would be a good start. IMHO

My wording wasn't great. We are on the same page though, the thick trees the lake had when impounded is a major part of what made it great in the early years. I was trying to say now that it doesn't have that shutting it down for a year isn't going to make it explode again.

Pretty sure the dairy's and fertilized hay meadows around didn't hurt anything as well.
