Wondering if GPS signal is messed up when units are flush mounted in the dash? I have the space to flush mount and it looks clean when done well. Lowrance website is vague and they had some can't answer the phone message when I called.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

If your depending on the internal GPS antenna I'd question flush mounting it too.

I agree. The gps signal will be just fine though a 3/16th layer of fiberglass. (1/16th if itโ€™s a nitro banana)

I'll vote for a solid bracket mount. Allows better access to rear cable ports. Viewing angle can be adjusted. Units can be removed for storage, travel, troubleshooting, etc.

I think flush mounting should be a thing of the past. Wat too easy to change units when they are on brackets. And get a point 1.

I just finished with a flush mounted 9 inch Live. It is very clean looking, more secure, and nice to have it completely out of the way. The biggest issue I had with it was constant overheating. Normal July day on Roberts and about noon I was already getting overheat warnings. Turned down the back lighting, stopped sonar when I didn't need it, etc, and still got hot. I recently upgraded to a Live 12 and got the bracket mount. It sticks out and I don't like the way it looks BUT I stopped getting the overheat warning. Some air circulation behind the unit has to be helping a little. Now I'm considering the bracket locks because it's way easier to steal.

I don't recommend flush mount if you fish when its hot. I had one burn up because it couldn't get enough air to cool it in the console. Almost lost the one in the bow that was flush mounted also. Seen it start flashing and quckly shut it off. Not doing that again. That was expensive!!

I have a flush mounted 16 at the bow of my boat, no GPS or over heating problems, the only problem I have is the graph easily gets water on it so the screen is always a little dirty, mostly comes from the trolling motor while running from spot to spot, would most likely use a bracket if I had it to all over, but the flush mount is really clean looking and out of the way.

Outfishdya- I also lost GPS last week on my new Live 12. Had to turn unit on and off a couple of times before it finally came back. Lost about an hour of GPS time doing that. Larry with Lowrance (always very helpful) said there is a new software update that just came out and might fix the issue....I am downloading it this week to see what happens.

I fear the software update, so tell me how it works out for you.
I did factory reset number 4 and so far it has been good.
