Does anyone fish with these rods and what do you think about them? I looked at a 7'2" H and a 7'4" H at Fun and Sun over the weekend in the M1 series.

Have a buddy in CA that fishes with many Phenix rods. He really likes them and states they are sensitive and light. I personally have held one and agree they are light, never fished with it though.

I have a couple of the Maxim 6.10 MH rods that are really great for the price point. More like a medium I fish one with cranks and lipless and the other with finesse jigs. They will fling some line with the right reel set up.
Really like them.

This company has been around a long time and they were one of my sponsors when I was tournament fishing in the 80's. They were also one of the originators of boron rods and while those were a bit heavier than graphite, they were super sensitive. I've quit tournament fishing and no longer have any business relationship with the company, but I still use a lot of their products. Personally I like their Feather series of rods.

I bought 4 of the Maxim rods. Broke a tip on one on a cast (I'll eat that, could have been jabbed into the rod box) Had a second one snap in half on a hookset, rod was 2 weeks old and had never been used. Had a third one snap right above the handle on a hookset, they offered to warranty them if I paid shipping.........
Positive is that I do still have one that I use for shakyheads. It has been solid so far and I actually use it quite a bit more than I care to admit.
Bottom line - I won't buy anymore.

I have a M1 7’2 mh. I picked up the original one while fishing the Delta in California. It was the most sensitive rod I’ve ever fished with! You could feel a bass hit a Senko on slack line. I fished with it for 8 years. I broke it this spring “my fault” i almost cried! Lol they have a warranty that I was able to get a new M1 7’2” for $95 mailed to the house. It’s not the same rod. Plus a made in China sticker on it. It’s not as sensitive as the old one. It’s a good rod but I won’t be paying the $185 for another one. That’s my opinion.

I have their x13 cranking stick, ultra mbx classic flippin stick, and two feathers in spinning models. They’re good for the price point, and their warranty is good as well.

I've had five in total 1 Maxim and 4 M1's, 3 of them have broken likely my fault. The M1's were MH and H at 7'8" and 7'4" and were more parabolic then other brands at that rating. Good rods but there are other brands in the same price range that I have preferred. I liked them and maybe they will have that feel you like but they never became that rod that I always wanted on the deck of the boat.

I have one of their 7'6' filling sticks. I wanted a one piece flipping rods with a split grip handle and at the Time Falcon Rods didn't make one. I even called to see if they'd make one special for me... No... So I found a Phenix that fit everything I was looking for. It's a great rod. If I every switch brands Phenix will get a good hard look... Dan

Bought a 6'6" MH at a small tackle shop near Lake Mead in 1983. Liked it enough to purchase a 6'6" Heavy a few days later. Phenix was ahead of its time 40 years ago.
