Yea, I remember years ago where Roland Martin was promoting a new rod that he said was the most sensitive he has ever used. It had a weighted system at the back of the rod where you could remove the butt of the rod and add weights to make it more balanced and he said that made it more sensitive. I thought well he has been fishing for many years and must have used a lot of different brands of rods over the years so he must know what he is talking about, so I bought one. It was the most non sensitive rod that I have ever used even with braided line. It was then that I realized that he was lying about the rod and how sensitive it was because they were his new sponsor. Lying in the fishing industry is nothing new. It happens all the time and it goes all the way back to the Rolland Martin. era. I took it back after two weeks of testing it out because it was JUNK. Nothing like Roland said it was. I never listened to anything he ever said after that.

Are you suggesting that the banjo minnow infomercial is not 100 percent legit?

It seems that way back then when Rolland Martin was popular he learned that if he lied about a product, that would increase his sponsorship, and that is what he did. Its not about the truth, its all about the money.

Jimmy Houston promoted a reel that used a Co2 cartridge. You would aim at your target and then shoot the lure with the Co2 cartridge. That is when I lost all respect for Houston.
