Tonyp - Yeah we have long suspected Fork might hold carp as nice as the bass it holds. It's one of those lakes where a healthy population of carp, and bass, and catfish, and well, everything, helps all the species balance out and get big!

Artan - Are you sure you're not seeing buffalo? I know that section of the Elm Fork pretty well, and haven't seen any carp there over maybe 15lbs. I've seen some 30+ buffs there though. Sometimes it can be hard to tell in the water.

i have never caught buffs there. just big carp and hyrbids. if its by the chuck e cheese "spillway" then you know what im talking about. i know the difference between them.

Yeah lol, I think I Know the place. Are you fishing the river itself, or the wider, flooded area directly behind those buildings with the flat spillway?

I've caught carp there but like I said never seen anything over 15lbs, yet. Though I've only fished it a cople times.

Hybrids huh? They are definitely in that river, probably a lot more right now then there have been for a while. Hadn't seen any come out of there, just white bass, but I'm sure there are a few in that area.

I've caught 1 buff back there, only 11lbs, so there are definitely more carp then buffs in there.

I catch those sizes everyday. I am not trying to funny, but that is a small fish.

Man, I don't ever fish for Carp or Buff and you guys are making this sound mighty interesting. I don't exactly go ultralight with the spinning gear though and I'd just flat out be scared hooking into anything 15+ lbs on a fly rod.

Ketchum, carp are damn tasty smoked and made great fried fish sandwhichs, just ask Kevin Sutton!

But I don't keep fish that big or that old. I keep the small ones, and let the big ones go to make more big ones!

Kube - Well, if you want a fish that's gonna beat the heck out of your fly gear, I'd definitely suggest fishing for carp!

Carp are one of the hardest fighting, most drag-stripping fish in freshwater!

Now I'm getting slightly off topic but, what type of fly would one use if he was fly fishing for carp? I've been meaning to make it back out to the EF for a long time now, but all the water has kept me away.
