Howdy guys, I normally hang out in the crappie section but targeting Bluegill is my second favorite. I've been catching some really nice gills in ponds around Allen. Pond fishing is all catch and release for me. I mostly fish Lavon for crappie. Has anyone figured out how to target gills there? I periodically catch one, but would like to be able to target them consistently on the lake. I have searched for bedding areas but Lavon is most mud bottom with very little grass.

I believe you'll find the Bluegill the same places you target crappie. I see them on brush piles all the time. Try gulp alive minnows, or natural baits like grasshoppers or worms on the next brush pile you find.

Thanks I found a few yesterday by dropping a worm on the top of a brushpile in 12fow. I thought most of those smaller fish were crappie and yellow bass, but there seems to be a good number of bluegill too. Hope all have a good Father's Day.
