6/15/2023; Scouting Report for you weekend fishermen: I checked Pitts Point, Greenhouse Ridge, Dam Hump West of the Pole, and Dam Ridge for fish down deep in 26 to 35 fow. I was able to bring fish under me in 35 fow at one of the spots but they would not bite anything I dropped down to them. I next checked the southern half of Drew's Humps and it was loaded with white bass (easily seen on side-scan) in 15 fow. I caught several to ensure they would bite, then checked the center of Long Ridge and saw a lot of fish there showing up on sonar, not side-scan. caught a few to make sure they would bite, then headed to Key Ranch Drop-off and there were fish there easily seen on side-scan in 12 to 15 fow. Caught some then went to Meromac but not much there. Last two spots checked were Iron Wall Hump (had fish all over it) and Kevn's Point and it had fish as well. Fish are still preferring the bigger baits like a #4 Mepps. Good luck to all. Enjoy God's great outdoors!

As always from you, another great report. Sure wish you lived on my home lake. I still enjoy reading your posts. The sand bass on PK are preferring a smaller bait, as they are mainly feeding on this years spawn of shad.

I tried a smaller Mepps (#2) earlier this week and they did not prefer it, but that will change here usually by mid July.

Fished 0645 to 0900 this morning. Looked at Key Ranch drop off, Long Ridge east, dam drop off, Drew's humps, crappie flats, iron wall and spillway hump. Caught fish at Key Ranch drop off, iron wall and spillway hump. 50 total using MAL original and a slab. Most were solid sand bass. Also caught 2 over hybrids, a few yellow bass and a few cats. Some of the fish concentrations were massive. The fish were still biting when we left. The guy I was fishing with wanted to get some of his chores done before it gets to hot.

Good to hear from you, Austin. Saw where you, wife, and kid all placed in the Hubbard white bass tournament. Congratulations! I reminded Todd that I fished with you in the 2010 Hubbard tournament, and that is when you pulled up radar on your smart phone convincing me I needed to get one of those.

6/22/2023: Did a scouting run and found fish in 10 to 15 fow at Saint Annes Point West, Drew's Humps, and Key Ranch Drop-off. Also found a few on deeper pattern (26 to 30 fow) on main lake humps. The numbers were fewer but was more apt to catch some hybrids. Total caught yesterday was 26 whites, 5 legal hybrids, 4 short hybrids, and 5 cats.

I went out early this morning and focused on deep water (20' plus). I was marking tons of fish at most drop offs that started at 20'. I also marked many suspended fish. They were not overly eager to strike the MAL original or the hell-pet rig. I caught several and had several strikes that missed. All the fish I caught were small. I only fished 3 spots. Long ridge east, iron wall and spillway hump. It was very choppy out there this morning with the SE wind.
