What do you use to stay cool in this heat? Anyone try those cooling vest, cooling towels, or those fans that hang from your neck? Any other ideas?

Cooling towel here. That and we knock off about noon on outside jobs. Today was brutal.

Even though I’m now retired. I need to get one of those cooling towels. I end up working in the heat on something all the time. Heat index in my neck of the woods was 111 today. By the weekend heat will be 115 my guess.

hops heat hint: if you find yourself overheating you can put a wet towel/rag/pr. of underwear/paper towels on the inside of your elbows to cool down faster. '

ice water/ice in a wet towel is best.

Stick your wrists in water or use a water hose and run water over both at a time.


You'll feel your blood cooling off.

This is even better. Pour water on your crotch cools faster the cooler the better. The corner guy at a boxing match pours water down the boxers shorts to cool him down.

This. Gets to your core faster.

Today was definitely on the warm side. Lucky for the breeze though.
