Caught this big dude on the Brazos around Graford on Memorial Day. A few miles down river from Rochelle's. Caught on a 4" shiner. He measured about 40". What an amazing battle, I've never caught a big flathead before. Caught 7 species that trip. It's a really great stretch of river.

Nice fish. When I was younger, I would fish from Possum kingdom dam to Rochelle's once or twice a year. Very beautiful section of the river.

Hope you released the flathead and kept the big drum............i always whisper to the flatheads upon release "come back and see me when your 100 lbs" ,to date I must admit none have returned.The drum get filleted,dredged in corn meal then dropped in grease.The bigger the better but absolute!y delicious.

I spent most of my free time as a kid on that piece of river, from PK dam to hwy 4, it's just a little over 20 miles by water on the river. Be the first to admit it's a boys paradise. If I wasn't on the river the lake was a certainty. I have never been worth killing either.

Yep, I don't keep big catfish, those are breeders not eaters. I do love freshwater drum but didn't keep anything on that trip.
