Lures we talking not shad
This has been the most wind less spring seasons I’ve ever seen in 29 years
Fish are definitely working out to the deep water it should be on at the dam any day

Mr Carey,
Do you have any advice for someone looking to throw some lures from a kayak this Friday? Been on live bait charters before, but never ventured out in my kayak. Of course can’t travel around quick to chase schools and/or birds, so are there any certain areas I should hang out in for the first 6 or so hours of daylight. Dam, north island, etc?
Any help would be much appreciated!!

May want to try in grandpappy after what happened to us during the storm. 4 seasons started dumping their shad and the fish went nuts and we all caught fish fishing off the dock in the rain it’s rare but it does happen :-)

Not out often on second shift in summer
Of course there’s always a chance and sometimes it can be great but with heat and all the summer boat traffic I avoid

Work kept me off the water the past week, but gonna head up to fish Thursday & Friday with the slightly cooler temps.
Camping @Eisenhower, thinking I’ll work the shoreline between Eisenhower and Grandpappy.

Beware there is a lot heavy aggressive boat traffic there
yesterday was really good in striper alley but
today it was not that good it just depends it’s been a very weird summer so far

Thank you for the heads up! I do my best to avoid most of the boat activity when I’m on the water, plan is to keep moving around and hopefully stay out of everyone’s way.
