Headed to Broken Bow with the fam all of next week. We’re taking the boat. I’ve never been on the lake. Anyone able to provide any info to help get on some fish out there? Thanks in advance!

One of my favorite top water lakes. Chrome with blue back Chug-bug with red or orange throat for the first couple of hours in the morning, after that plum-colored finesse worms. . Have a great time because you will catch fish.

Lower end can be tough this time of year. If your not getting many bites head north into the river that has dirtier water and timber. Pretty safe lake to run just watch out for islands. Running north stay in river channel on the bends. Also, fish those bends. Good luck! it’s a gorgeous lake one of my favs.

I was there two weeks ago for the first time. We caught plenty of fish in shallow grass on the islands. We also had a guide that brought us to humps and brush piles. We could probably see 12 feet down easy (crazy!). There was also a tackle shop in Hochatown by the food trucks that had everything you could want. The guide said he also does good at night around the marinas.
We caught them on weightless senko's, jerk baits, drop shots, and Carolina rigs.

Just got back from a trip there this last weekend, it was my first time to ever fish it. Ended up with 2 walleye, a hand full of small spotted bass, and a hand full of 12”-16” LMB. Dragging Carolina rigged flukes on underwater humps (they’re marked with buoys) all around beavers bend marina. Also caught some on a drop shot.

Be sure and keep an eye up on the ridges when you go into the river. Beautiful scenery and we've been lucky to see a few bears up there while fishing. Easily one of the most beautiful and scenic lakes you will ever see and it's within 4 hours drive from here in DFW.

I have a thread on here that these guys gave me TONS of information on Broken Bow, but I can't seem to find it... I think it was to many years ago. I believe it was 3-4 years since that thread was posted.

Fished there this spring and caught smallmouth, largemouth, walleye, crappie, sand bass, spotted bass (ned rigs and small swimbaits), and then caught some rainbows and browns in the river below the dam late in the day. Species bonanza for sure!
