if you have more than one child you realize some just naturally succeed, and some just naturally struggle.
Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.

Then their lunches were amazing! Ramen, tempura, maki-sushi, etc. were on the menu.
So no slices of square, soft pizza or Salisbury steak? Their loss, I guess.

Discipline.
Both parental and self plays a big role in their success. This...Americans are way more relaxed towards education than any other country. I lived in Japan as a child and got to experience 3 years of their school systems. They were teaching basic algebra in 1-3 grade. We learned simple concepts around literature, economics, and sciences. I could do math on an abacus before I picked up a calculator. The kids I had around me were very attentive during class, very respectful, and truly enjoyed learning. The ones around us that "slacked" off got made examples of by the teachers and their parents. The Japanese were very kind to Americans, but they really didn't like us in their public schools. One of the best things I learned, they know how to treat students. We got breaks for physical exercise, kind of like kid boot camp. This helped clear the mind and strengthen the body. Then their lunches were amazing! Ramen, tempura, maki-sushi, etc. were on the menu. Yes, started school in South Korea. You are a full year ahead from the get go (in Asia, you start Kindergarten at four years old instead of five). Any challenges to the teacher's authority are met with swift swats from the yard stick in front of the class. Then, I continued my schooling in Singapore (second grade) and England (third grade). It was go at your own pace with different workbooks depending on your motivation level. By the end of third grade, I'd finished long division, fractions, decimals, and pre Algebra. Then, when I got the US in the fourth grade, I didn't learn anything brand new in math until seventh grade more advanced algebra and geometry.

Let’s not forget that the United States of America is still the land of dreams where you can be anything you want to be if you are willing to work for it. Putting all of the BS politics aside, there are many people that believe that and come here to do just that.
If someone wants to come to the United States and go through the proper channels to do it, work hard to utilize all of the resources and opportunities that are here, better themselves and their family, and become productive members of this American society, then more power to them.

This is a central reason as to why America is the most powerful nation in the world. Smart, calculated risk taking, entrepreneurism, and innovation are encouraged here to a much greater extent than any other country, with relatively minimal amounts of mafioso type corruption and government interference. It's why companies like Google, Tesla, eBay, General Dynamics, Texas Instruments/Raytheon, and many others are founded and thrive in this great country.

They are not spoiled , they are parented and pushed to be good at something other than gaming or hood rat stuff. Yup. It's cultural. Don't learn that on the street.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

Those kids do not come from families who has sat on their arse for several generations waiting for the mailman to deliver their lively hood.

You ought to be ashamed. Next you will say the Hamburger, scoop of canned corn and syrup covered fruits cups with chocolate milk were no good? Get to steppin... I bid you good day sir.

I started going downhill when I truly discovered ole Willy, too.
