Spent last Friday and Saturday on HC. The fishing wasn't bad, as we caught some decent fish in the 4-5lb range, but it was slow and you had to work for them. We caught a few on topwater early around the dam area, then fished some points with structure and rock. Found a few more with medium diving crankbaits and a few on weightless worms just on the grass line. The bait that we caught the most fish on was a 1/4oz shakyhead with a zoom trick worm. This produced around rock, on points and mainly around brush. We found some deep brush around a few docks and that seemed to be the winning ticket on Saturday. This disappointing part of the trip is the accommodations and the ramps. The public ramp is ok, but steep and drops off way to quick. So if you have a longer trailer, watch out. The ramp at the Resort is horrible and always has been. Each owner claims they are going to fix it, but they never do. The new dock they built is nice to walk on, but is about 16" to high to park a boat at. The cabins are all old and the damn sand in the parking areas just gets everywhere. They claim to have Fiber Optic wi-fi, but that is all smoke and mirrors. You can't get a signal to save your life. I really like this little lake and its full of big fish, but the ramps suck and there is no decent place to stay near the lake.

You must have launched on right ramp when looking at the lake. It sucks. Only use the left ramp. Been launching there for 15 years without a single issue
