I went back to my old stomping grounds on Friday and Saturday to see if I could find some white bass on Lake Ray Hubbard and compete in a White Bass tournament on Saturday. Me, Lincoln, and his friend Anthony fished Friday afternoon from about 4pm until dark and found fish is several locations in 18-25 FOW. Most of the fish were small, but we hit the motherload near Terry Park and were catching fish every cast (about 1 out of 4 were decent size) until we left to find more spots for Saturday. I was using a green Bo-Blade with a yellow spinner and Lincoln and Anthony were using a MAL with the chartreuse tail. The sawtooth method with a quicker than average retrieve seemed to work best. On Saturday, we started back at Terry Park at 6:30 am and nada, so we started moving around a looking for fish and found small fish in several spots and at 9:30 we only had a couple of keepers. Finally we got a consistent bite when we found some fish hugging the bottom in about 20 FOW and we got them going with the splasher and it was on … fish every cast for about an hour and half and we would catch a good one about every 5th fish. The wind came up pretty strong about 11:30 so we headed in. On Saturday, Lincoln and Anthony were out fishing me with the MAL so I switched from the Bo-Blade and we caught most of them on the MAL with the chartreuse blade. Overall, we caught 81 on Friday and probably over 200 on Saturday including about 10 small hybrids. I ended up in 1st place and had the big fish and Lincoln finished in 3rd place and Anthony finished in 5th. It was a fun tournament and they are going to host more at Lake Ray Hubbard … I encouraged them to post them on the TFF to get a bigger turnout. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/06/full-92146-186496-img_2796.jpeg) Get the MAL at www.whitebasstools.com Get the Bo-Blade by calling Mark Bovee at (512) 796-0333

Well fought! It was good to meet y'all, I was the guy that finished fourth. Took me three hours to find a good school, lots of scattered fish I probably fished 9 spots before I found a willing school. All caught on Bo Blades and MAL lures. Lookin forward to the next one for sure that was my first tournament and it was a blast.

It was a fun tournament. Congratulations on the win. I caught a bunch of fish on the BoBlade, lime with chartreuse blade. I come in early because of the bad weather that looked like it was coming in but it passed us by except for the wind. Myself my son and my wife fished the tournament. We had a great time!! It was nice to meet the few people we met. We were in a bit of a rush....unlike the hospital we went to......... . My wife (Sassy Angler) came in 2nd place. Very Proud of her! My son was the REEL trooper. Towards the end, a fish decided to spit the lure into his ankle. He was insistent on making it to weigh in. "I didn't get up at 4am to not make weigh in." After we weighed our fish, we headed to the ER to get the lure out. That boy teaches me something everyday! Thanks to my family for making this a really fun tournament.
