This fish had not a single spine coming out of the body where the webbing would grow between to form a tail. It swam away just like a regular fish. That fish had waaaaay less of a tail than the one in that picture. I figured that it was natural because I don't think anybody would be trimming tails on the Red River. Anyhow, the point of that is that it does happen. Congrats to that Angler and hope he won the boat. PS - If he won, I'll bet that poly got pretty specific as regards to that winning fish.

They were told to bring it in and would be checked out. There was no signs that it was a recent injury or altercation. Basically said if it looked like a recent injury it would have been a problem whether it was caught that way or not, the anglers would have been questioned a little harder I guess. Since the fish was completely healed up and caught that way it is a legal fish.
