Anyone out there using the Millennium boat umbrella for shade out on the water? Interested in others thoughts on this and other possible solutions. Thanks

I think they work best for "inactive" fishing, ie bobber fishing, crappie fishing maybe, things where you cast and wait - not actively working a biat. But I've never used one so could be completely off. Just looks like it would always be in the way otherwise. I've often though of getting a bimini and taking a break under it during hot florida summers, but in the end they seem like more trouble than they are worth, at least for my use case. Taylor Made makes a umbrell/shade cover or sorts as well. There's also this style, which is sort of a univeral design but have read of folks using it on the boat... https://www.amazon.com/Sport-Brella-Versa-Brella-Adjustable-Umbrella-Universal/dp/B09WD9JFBR?th=1

I put a Bimini Top that shades the seats on my TR-21 really well, while leaving the front deck and 90 percent of the back deck, clear to fish from. Now for the most time of the year I have it removed completely. Then for the 3 really hot months of the year it's on. To take a lunch break under it's just freaking awesome. I can run 45-50 mph max with it up down the lake, not pushed it any faster than that since I bought the cheaper aluminum pole version.

I have an old aluminum frame one that I put on occasionally for shade on seats. Works good and is nice to have a place to cool off. I forgot to take it down one day and drove home running 70mph and it held up just fine. Mine is about 5 years old and other than looking nasty is still in great shape

The golf equipment companies make the best umbrellas, if you have a place and a way to mount one. One of those will give you shade when you need it, and don't interfere much with your fishing. And out of the way, when not needed. My $.02. IslandJim

On a 100+ day with no wind this rig knocks off about 20%. Sams for the umbrella and youtube for the seat mount. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/06/full-105526-187474-8_15_19_1009_1019_frame_at_7m18s.jpg)

Without getting out of seat. Thanks for the pic.
