Well, my trim switch on the front deck was activated overnight, and the motor is stuck in the up position. I tried all of the switches to lower it, and nothing happens. I can hear it trying to tilt up when pressed but not down. Is the trim motor bad now or is there something else that I need to check? Is there a way to manually lower it if the motor is bad? The battery is still charged so it's not that. It's a 1999 225 Mercury EFI 2 stoke if it matters.

Update...I was able to figure out that one of the relays on side of motor went bad. Got a replacement from local boat shop and it's working properly now.

does it have a fuse or circuit breaker for the tilt/trim? if not u may want to add one. how did the switch get left on I would think it would have momentary switches?

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I'm sure you know about the trim/ tilt manual release on the side should it ever get stuck in up position again.
