I don’t ever see myself retiring, working so much has always been my go to excuse for stinking up a tournament.

We dont do a lot so therefore we dont spend a lot. 80 acres including house and vehicles are paid for so its not too complicated. The grandkids love coming to the country so that makes it simple!

Yep, getting rid of all debt and reducing fixed expenses is the key to financial health in retirement.

I knew my CPA had lot of experience with people after retirement and his advice ws pretty much same as above...plus he advises not postponing your bucket list because you can usually expect to be healthy enough from age 65 to 75 to cross things off your bucket list..after age 75 if you still alive, you gonna slow down in what you want and can do...I'm almost 84 and blessed in that I'm still able to hunt, fish and travel.....but.....I've got a number of friends who didn't live long enough to do all the things they wanted to do....

I think about it several days a week. Have worked for the Army for 39 years next month. (24 in uniform). I thought I had earned some respect and authority until last week when I was told I had to leave early on Friday because I punch in early every Day (for 39 years). I have never charged the Govt overtime for any of it. I always thought I worked for the Army, or for the soldiers. not the time clock...

Covid (working conditions) forced me out. HS teacher and coach with plenty of years to retire. District made everyone come in to teach the kid’s remote with no exceptions for high risk older teachers; pre-Covid vaccines. My doctor said no way am I to go in. My school lost all of its most senior and most experienced teachers. Most of us really weren’t making any more money than being retired, just wanted to help maybe make a difference in a kid’s life. My students had a young sub who could care less, she was there to collect a check. Used up my 131 days of sick time then retired.

It's gotten significantly worse the last year or two....I wish I didn't have 20 years of this left....
