Anyone know of a reliable source for crickets in the DFW/central Texas area? We would always use crickets around Hot Springs (Ouachita/DeGray), but I've never seen any available in this area. I realize not as many "bream/perch" in this area, but lower end of Whitney, Belton (clearer lakes) should have plenty of panfish.

Pet's Mart. The one in my area has them. You might want to use Google to see who is selling them in your area! thumb

Side Note: I personally do not use them but I know anglers who do. They are great for sunfish/Bluegill. hooked

Any pet shop that deals with reptiles will usually have them.

My wife's uncle lived in El Dorado, AR and loved to catch bream. He used crickets exclusively on a long shank black wire hook under a float with a ten foot extension pole. He fed a lot of folks with that setup.

I watched a video by 903 Fishing. Him and his wife were fishing Fairfield within the last couple of weeks. They had worms and crickets. They could only get them to bite crickets. Not sure if the crickets excited those big bluegill more or they just need a lesson from Chuck on how to catch big bluegill on worms roflmao

Chandler tx sporting good store carries cricket by the tube but if you need a lot might be costly.

Saw how you could order quite a few crickets and keep them in fine mesh container, feed them some meal, and water. Add some empty egg cartons .Should last a couple weeks.

I have a floating cricket fly that I use. Get good results during the spring and early fall.

Great back-up bait when you run out of worms! hooked

Side Note: Gulp Alive also makes a leach which works good also. hooked
