I've had no problems at all with 20-25 lbs P-Line fluro. Fished it 3 straight days on Falcon with multiple fish over 7lbs and not one break off. Had to tie it off to a cleat to break it when I did get hung up. It does have a lot of memory after several days on the spool, but at $25 a pop I just change it out before every trip. Usually can spool 4 reels and just use P-Line mono on the others.

Six months ago I completed my own "on water" testing of fluoro & mono lines. I did this over a 5 year period, fishing once per week. (tried 7or 8 different lines over this time span...mostly high end name brand products). I catch a decent number of big bass. Last year I had 33 between 5 & 8 lbs. Main factors I was tracking were line twists, abrasion issues, knot issues & overall strength. I mostly finesse fish with spinning tackle & 10-12 lb test. My conclusion was/is that "Big Game" is the best non-braid line out there for this type of fishing. I did try braid for about 3 months in the middle of this experiment & hated it. Also, I do use a line conditioner when I first spool it on the reel.

I went strictly to Sunline because of the break off issues with them. Ditto. My first experiments with "premium" flouro was with Invizx and AbrasX. Wasn't a fan a stuck with Berkley 100%. Was gifted a box of Sunline Sniper and never looked back. I bought a box of Sunline Sniper in 15# test and it broke on me 3 times the first time I used it so I went back to Invizx that was over a year old and never broke off. I will never use Sunline fluorocarbon line again.

Baby sitting fluoro is a beating. Constantly retying it, stretching it, spraying it, keeping it in a refrigerator?, having to throw it out after six months.
It sure is nice for weightless and very low weight soft plastic presentations, but not worth the trouble for most. I’ve never done any of that and had zero problems with fluoro. Invizx, sniper, sunline bms, p-line. No issues.

I’ve got two reels with #20 Vicious flouro that’s been on them since ‘21. Still use both regularly with no issues. No special treatment, no conditioner. All other reels with Pline or YoZuri get changed out every few months or as needed.
I can’t imagine paying more for a line I’ve got to babysit. Doesn’t seem worth the hassle or the cost.

Maybe getting out in the yard and stretching the [censored] out of your line is weakening It

The only trouble I had was breaking on hookset. Had to change knots. I now use the "3 tag knot" and never have issues. I change line out at the beginning of each year and it last just fine and fish a lot! I'm sure someone on here knows the official name of the "3 tag knot". Check out Shaw Grigsby's youtube video on how to tie.

You are correct,,Im so glad you pointed that out. thank you, because (that just makes it even worse) it was 16# test brand new and it broke on me 3 times that day. I bought it to test it out and it failed big time for me. Never bought any Sunline after that. I have no issues with Invizx. Maybe it was a bad spool but I won't go back and test it out again. Sunline Sniper does seem to work well at hanging ornaments on a Christmas tree. I haven't had any fall off due to the line breaking.

Don't start that again Frank. We have never met and you don't know anything about me. You begged me in a P/M to go easy on you so I agreed to that, so don't start again.

100% on the three tag knot! I also get about a year out of fluorocarbon. I fish just about every weekend. KVD line conditioner helps.
