Needing some concert work done at my home thus got a quote and wondering if this is within a fair price as I’m not familiar with material cost and labor on a job like this. 30x27 slab for a total of 13 yards + labor=$7,400 for extra parking space. This includes removing a smaller portion of current concrete. Another small project in back yard using 7 yards of concrete and again removing some existing concrete. $3,900 for that project. Quoted concrete at $170 a yard. Said it take about 4 days total. Total concrete + labor = $11,300. Any insight/guidance would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I had a slab poured a few years back about 12'x20'. 5" and #3 bars and it cost $2,500. Now I did a lot of the grading work myself and this was before materials went up like no other.

Seems like a fair price to me.

Perimeter beams and cross beams are important if they were not discussed. Beams should be12" x 12" with two pieces of #4 rebar in beams and #3 rebar in mat.
Job without added charge for grading or removal of extra concrete in area comes in at $8500-9700.
My subs are in the $9-$12/sqft range depending on prep needed and location of pour. There are some guys out there that will quote you $7-$8/sqft but I would be careful.
I would go with someone like Roger (Happykamper) at H&H over finding someone off CL or FB Marketplace.

I had a patio poured this spring. It was about 300 sqft at 4" thick. That comes to about 3.7 yard, cost $2700, and about $9/sqft. I didnt have any labor to remove an old slab. I did have extra labor because all excavation was by hand, dirt wheelbarrowed out and hauled off. The concrete had to be wheelbarrowed to my backyard. Things like an old slab removal could be significant. Overall, seems like you're in the ballpark to me based on square footage though.
A couple thoughts. Is the 27X30' a 5" thick slab for 13 yards?
I wouldn't consider 7 yards a small project. Youre talking 20'X28'x4" thick without accounting for extra...

Sounds fair... We had some work done here in Feb or 2021 and the cost per yard was $160. Talked with they guy who did all the work a few months ago and he said concrete was now at $190 a yard... Dan

You can't hardly find concrete for less than 200 yd. And with removal - I'd say hell yea, jump on it.

October 2021 I had a deck removed and a 12x46 slab poured, border was stamped. Kidney shaped, and a 45ft sidewalk with pad area for trash can. Rebar, saw cut, and reinforced for future outdoor kitchen. 7,200$
Would have paid a little more to have a bit better quality but it's done.

I’ve got about 30k worth of concrete going in this week and next.
If anyone has the bright idea to move to the country to save money let’s talk first.

I hope your “quote” stays the actual price once the company gets the job. I’m wondering if the new game is for companies to low ball you a “quote”, to get the job, and then once work starts, they up the price, is that right????

Just make sure they are planning on digging for beams. If you're in Grapevine, you want beams in your slab.

8.5 yards for driveway extension last March. $3450. Dirt work only with no haul away. We moved the dirt across the street to neighbors yard. He ended up with some nice Bermuda along the street. 2 of my neighbors just had driveway extensions done and they did all the dirt work by hand. I walked over and said who needs a skid stear when you have Mexicans with pick axes.
