Hi all, Does anybody have the garmin force trolling motor? If so how do you like it? I have a Ranger aluminum RT188 which came with a Minn Kota edge. Only thing is the edge is only 42โ shaft. Any thoughts on how a 50โ shaft would be on my boat? Iโm mostly just wondering how much space it will take in stowed position up on deck. If I would be able to mount it with out the motor head sticking way outside the boat edge. Are should I just go with the Minn Kota Ultrex 45โ shaft? Iโm running garmin live scope and I really donโt need any trolling motor that hooks to my garmin chart plotter but they all seem to be able to hook up to something. Iโm mostly just looking for troll motor with spot lock to hold me on crappie when I find them.
Any info thanks.

I had a Force on my old boat the only thing I didn't like is it did have a tendency to drift a bit by a few feet but not to bad, also it have a far heaver boat than your Ranger. Both are good units. My new boat has a MotorGuide XI-5 and it's total [censored]!! I am going to replace it with a Force in the fall. Shouldn't take up much more space than what you have and yes it will stick over a bit.
Do something different, you will be surprised what happens. 2020 Xpress H20B 115 Yamaha SHO

I have a Force on a Tracker 190, similar boat size. 50" shaft is no problem on my boat, it barely hangs off, if at all (off the top of my head). I've appreciated the longer shaft on some windy days + boat wakes.

the force has a notch in the mount that the livescope transducer fits in perfect, protects it very well. all you can see on mine is the mount.

I personally think the Force is a terrific TM, and I also think on your boat that Force would be a killer setup. I plan to put one on my rig, just the funds are not there yet. Good luck with all this and looking forward to reading all about yours.

Been wondering if you pulled this trigger or a different one. Glad you like the results.
