A good long phart.

A successful phart that is. At my age, you can never trust a phart.

That extreme high pitch scream of a car going around the track at 12,000 rpm.

Chris and Mo hit on some I can wholeheartedly agree with in the sounds of the woods waking up while you're sitting still with heightened senses is simple invigorating to the soul. Chris said this one.

Sound of loons over the water. Living and fishing in Maine I've heard it hundreds of times in person. And also the sound of geese flying over. Mo said these.

I'll add a few from nature:

The sound of wood ducks calling and the rushing wind sounds overhead as they rocket right over you.

In the deep large woods the furtive sound of a pileated woodpecker is so primeval.

A pair of hawks buzzing the tree tops calling out trying to flush a squirrel

Wind in the treetops when you're in the big woods but especially in big pines.

And I agree with the coyotes singing on a very still, cold, winter evening and the startup with one over in one area letting go with a long low howl and then off in another direction another answers and then the pups of the year get all excited and let go with their yipping but the best is the long low howl by a biggun.

Manmade:

The lap on an aluminum boat when your sitting still and there's a chop on the water and even underway with a trolling motor but sitting still is the best.

The blast of a shotgun in the big woods and the way it echoes for several seconds.

And as mentioned several times the lope of a heavy cammed V-8 sitting at idle and in that same vein the lope of a Merc 2-stroke starting it up on hose muffs. Just too cool !

I like the sound out here in the woods when my neighbors are mowing, they're a long way off.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Since I wear hearing aids and all they do if amplify every sound I'm partial to just plain silence... Unplug the hearing aids, crack a beer and listen to nothing... Dan cheers

It can be best described as stirring of mac & cheese.

So in your opinion how is it supposed to be sung? As long as it's respectful and they try their best all that matters to me

The sound an outboard makes when after a long tournament of running your livewells all day and you finally decide its time to head to the weigh in. The best sound happens when that motor barely turns over at a sluggish rate and then all of a sudden we got spark and ignition. Heartbreak and exhileration all at the same moment.

Speaking of the woods waking up in the tree stand, how about setting there in the pitch dark and hearing deer crunch on those golden death nuggets and the occasional doe hoofs smacking aroud trying to protect her corn.

Horns rattling from deer fighting really near.

Also having some other guys wife in his boat asking him what i'm throwing, and they should get some of them.

Life journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved state.
But rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy carp what a ride!"
