What are your favorite sounds?
Mine, top if my head, but not in order.

1. Heavy rain, lightning and thunder in a storm
a. Rain with wolves, awesome!
2. Water running over rocks/pebbles, quiet and peaceful or roaring loud!
3. Rain on an umbrella
4. Rubber wheels over gravel, vehicle or bike
5. Shoes or tires crunching over snow
6. Fire crackling/wood burning
7. classical music, especially "oboes, bassoons and harpsichords"
8. the sound of "Gothic and macabre"

Women crying
Police sirens


Those are just the ones I use on my sleep machine to sooth me.

I like silence

My fav sounds are multiple pops from feeding specs slapping the surface with their tails.

Yes, nighttime silence.
I forgot that one.

...!

Like when a heart monitor goes silent. That's a good one, too.

Sitting in my screened in porch just before sunrise listening to the calls of the doves, cardinals, and other birds as they get their day started.

The sounds braid makes when you set the hook
Turtle Doves cooing
Cats purring
The sounds of your childs feet on a hardwood floor
Thunder storms
Formula one car going through the gears
Church Bells
Mercury 300 on cold start

And the one I would never sleep without. The sound of the $40 fan I have in my bedroom.

Rain “grey noise”. I can’t sleep without it. I can hear something as light as fizzing from an open coke can and it will wake me up. I have to drown out the noise.

From my early years. I was raised on an East Texas farm and remember laying in bed listening to the attic fan, the trains passing through, and the radio broadcast of the St. Louis Cardinals on my transistor radio. After all these years, I can still conjure up these sounds but I sometimes can’t remember something from last week. Weird.

From later years, the cold start of a radial aircraft engine, MotoGP bike at 17,000 rpm’s on the straight, and a 12 cylinder Ferrari motor at full throttle.
