A little more information would help. Since you are just wanting a rod for the truck, is a 2 piece ok, or do you need a smaller length true travel rod. There are lots of options in a 2 piece, but a good 3-7 piece rod is harder to find and much more expensive. The line weight and length of rod you are looking for would also help.

I have not tried them all, but I've been very impressed with the St. Croix, Falcon and Megabass. Travel Rod Resources

I was thinking a MH casting rod. More of a travel rod.

I travel to Mexico and elsewhere to fish and over the years have shopped more than a few travel rods. Also, Pete Robbins' excellent review above gives even more suggestions. These below are from my own experience. IMHO, $150 is the entry price I've found fo a rod that could compare to a one-piece baitcasting rod, and in that category the best choice is a Falcon Traveler . It's on the quality level of a Lowrider and comes in an excellent tube that can easily hold one or two more rods. It's a 3-piece rod. They have a MH rod that I like a lot. Also in the line are an M-power baitcaster, and two spinning rods. They're the best bang for the buck, IMHO ( https://www.falconrods.com/product/traveler) I also have a St. Croix Triumph travel casting rod, it's a 4-piece rod in the $165 range and comes with a nice sleeve. As a 4-piece, it fits into a common tube for fly rods, which is convenient for travel by air. It's got a nice feel to it, though for that price range, I prefer the Falcon Traveler. (https://stcroixrods.com/products/triumph%C2%AE-travel-casting-rod-2020) Since I'm kinda "bougie," my personal favorites are the Megabass Triza rods, they're in the $370 range. Triza rods (I have 4 casting and 1 spinning) are of the quality and compare in performance to MB one-piece rods. If you're into that price range, the Thunderbird is the MH rod you'd want....(6'9" MH, 8-20lb, reg taper 1/4-3/4oz) or the Stympalides, (7'0", H, 10-25lb, 3/8-1oz, MF taper). I have both and take them down to El Salto without any problems at all . ( https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Megabass_Triza_Travel_3-Piece_Casting_Rod/descpage-MBTC.html) One downside about flying with the Triza line is that they don't come with protective tubes, only nice rod sleeves. And disassembled, they're all just over 30" long and don't fit in many duffel bags. I was using the Falcon tubes for flying with them but have recently acquired a WAY COOL Simms Rod Vault that holds up to 6 rods, 6 reels, and a bunch of storage for lures, tackle, etc. It's pricey $200, but if you fly with your rods, it is a definite way-to-go. https://www.simmsfishing.com/collections/all/products/gts-rod-and-reel-vault

Herb...I travel to fish multiple times a year for a variety of fish...mostly bass and pike.I consider myself very experienced/knowledgeable in the area of travel rods and I think your post is absolutely money! The only thing I would add is that there are a couple of options for suitcases that will accommodate up to 32 inch rods. I have an Eddie Bauer version that has a hard bottom compartment that I can store eight multi-piece rods in with a soft upper compartment that I store everything else in. I have cut up a pool noodle and I place a six inch piece on the end of each rod bundle and then alternate them. I have never had an issue with breakage. I've tried five different brands and for my money the Megabass rods are BY FAR the best...even though I wish they didn't cost so darn much! Nicely done on your post.
