NRX+ is a 15 y/o when the wind blows

GLX is 30's

IMX is early to mid 40's

GCX is typical TFF'er that secretly orders the "little blue pills" from Hims

Doug - roflmao

I would not recommend buying a GCX just so you can say you own a Loomis. That price range is a crowded segment and I would tell you to buy a Falcon or something similar for $200 bucks. If you don't want to pop for a GLX or above I would say don't spend your money. IMX on down are not bad rods, they are just not what Loomis is about IMO.

*Disclaimer: This is not a slam on Loomis. It is juts an honest assessment of the brand after using them for more than 30 yrs. I've jumped in the boat with several guys that owned a $200 Loomis and they "Weren't that impressed with it". They bought a bottom end Loomis and they like their Falcon or Dobyns or insert brand here and they like that rod better. If you fish with an NRX or Conquest you will feel the difference.

Just another rod. No reason to spend more that 100-120 bucks tops on a rod. Anything else is just ego.

If it was a stupid idea, you can be assured I have already done it

Yeah you're probably right... Bass fishing is all about "need" anyways

The guide we use at St Claire has a few NRX’s and lets me use one occasionally.

Lol. The sensitivity and balance is pretty good on ‘em. I caught just as many fish with his Lew’s “customer rods” as I did the NRX. As far as lunch goes, im just a lowly fire extinguisher inspector. If we get an NRX style lunch, you’re paying.

If im paying, we’re getting a “Berkeley cherrywood” style lunch.

Fair enough. roflmao

I agree if you are fishing a moving bait you do not "need" to spend the money on an NRX or even a GLX but for bottom contact baits, there is nothing that equals the sensitivity of an NRX or Conquest.

To our friend Rich12:

I worked the boat shows for FIshin World for many years. I wore my Bullet or Allison jersey as I have owned five Bullets & 2 Allys. I would see a couple walking up the aisle looking at our booth. The first question would always come from the guy; "How fast will that thang run?" I would tell him. Second question came from the woman: "Why does anyone Need to go 90 mph to catch a fish?"

I would look at her and very matter of factly say, "Lady, there ain't nothing in this entire convention center that has anything to do with NEED, it's a BOAT SHOW".

LOL when I am buying tackle the clerk will usually ask "did you find everything you need" and I always tell them NEED has nothing to do with this stuff, Its a WANT item. Impulse shopper....
