I have some optima blue top batteries (d31) for my ultrex 80 running at 24v. My trolling motor is running fine but it’s not running at full speed when at 10, I may need to replace my batteries which are 6+ years old. I don’t wanna have to replace my 3 bank charger so what batteries would you recommend that won’t break the bank?

Go get two Everstart 29s from Walmart. Replace them every three years whether they need it or not.

Get some group 31 oriellys batteries. They last longer than the blue 31. I’ve been there and done that.

And they are only $109 ea.

I usually get 5 years out of the 29 series Everstart. Have one now that I bought in 2017 that still holds 12.6V after charging. I've run Interstate, Trojan and several others over the years and none have been as reliable or long lasting as the WalMart Everstarts. All that being said, I'm anal about battery charging and maintenance.

This is my advice also. I have had better luck with Everstarts than anything, and I have owned two sets of Optima blue tops.
