The shad spawn is finally wrapping up and the whites and hybrids are transitioning to their summer pattern. Had a great trip this weekend catching a mix of big whites, young hybrids and a few left overs from the 2017 class. Caught all my fish on an old school silver fiesta slab from Moe’s tackle including my new pb. Congrats! That is an awesome hybrid! My son caught a 28 inch one 18 years ago, but my best is 27.5 inches.

Thanks guys! It took me ten years to catch my first DD hybrid on Palestine and have two this year which is crazy considering we missed 4 years of stockings after our big fish kill. That being said next few years should be epic with three straight big stockings taking very nicely. Had a fat 27”er a couple of months ago off the bank when the big gizzards just started spawning. And yes Mo, the crappie bite has been excellent as well.
