Born and raised in East Texas. I was born in Good Shepherd hospital in Longview, America. Raised 16 miles north in Diana, America. Grew up fishing at LOP and Fork. Still have a deer lease on the Cypress river that feeds into Caddo. I never knew how beautiful all that was until I moved away and went back and visited.

I will be heading East for a funeral this week.
When the funeral procession drives to the grave site everyone on the road will pull over to the side of the road to pay respects. Many of them will actually get out of their vehicles. I’ve experienced this many times over the years. It’s just a very humbling experience to see people do this for you and your family. Never experienced it anywhere else.

I was taught to always pull over for a funeral procession. I grew up in East Tex.

I am fortunate enough to get to travel to just about every inch of the state for my job, from Perryton to Alpine to Edinburg and back home to NE TX. I can honestly say that anywhere out of the city and away from people is where i want to be. Unfortunately that is hard to find these days. I believe that each region has its own unique charm that i could get used to if i had to.

Funny
I used to have this fox terrier that would run away.
Last time I saw him he was going over a hill about a hundred yards away.
