This just ended and I need some opinions.
I know a guy who shot the 2nd biggest gar but was disqualified. They went round and round and I just keep scratching my head as it doesn't make sense. I e-mailed the guy in charge and am waiting for a reply.

Basically they said it was illegal to bowfish in the Nueces River but that's just not correct.

I do not have 100% facts (just one side) so I won't post details. But does anyone have a clue how they could claim that and DQ him? The GW should have given him a ticket if it was illegal, right?

PB flathead 34.5 lbs - I know it's small but it was still the record for Lake Travis when I caught it!
PB Blue 58.5 lbs jugline 43.5 lbs on R&R which was the other Lake Travis record when caught.

Maybe for just the tournament?

I know there is something about certain areas being closed off when Gar are spawning, not sure how one knows that info though.

Here you go. Not sure how you avoid a river area, since every lake has them attached. But I’ve never bowfished, so I don’t know.
