Chris,
IF you were not fishing with Jaxon, I would have accused you of having "delta xx" on that pack of gummy bears! LOL
That was a crazy fun challenge, and glad it worked out. I would have bet on the clams and night crawlers... never thought of gummy bears. Learn something new every day.
Cheers,
Ken

So, I took a day off and went to Pines yesterday to just fish and explore and just relax. Stopped and grabbed some breakfast and there was a bag of generic gummy bears just sitting there. I remembered this post and said what the heck. So off to the lake I went. Everywhere I fished I caught fish. Caught them in 9ft by some trees, 14ft on a drop off, 8ft out 10 yards from a rocky bank, and in 24ft of water just out in the lake. Didn't use the gummys for a while simply because I forgot about them. I remembered and baited up a second pole and dropped it down. I just set it down and fished the other pole because I wasn't expecting much. I nice cat almost took my pole in! No way. So I caught that fish and got my other pole back in. Another gummy down and held the pole this time. Wham! About 10 seconds and another nice fish. I caught 86 yesterday in 3 1/2 hours with all the moves I made. I only kept 5 to eat for my wife and I. I would guess I caught 30-35 on gummys. They worked like crazy yesterday. I will try them a few more times before they become a staple for me but if this trend continues they may end up being my go to bait for channels. Can't wait to see how they do on Fork. Who would of thunk it ?!?!

I told you all years ago about gummi worms!!!! You did I remember those posts but honestly I thought y'all were just joking around. Like haha let's tell all the noobs that they should fish with gummy worms. If I recall maybe it was you or one of your buddies had posted that they were catching fish they were throwing up gummy worms that they had stripped off other guys hooks... because they were like so keyed in on those gummy worms. Amazing and now I know all these years later that that wasn't a joke LOL

I plan to finally try the gummy worms out here in later June & July, as per yours (Chris, Tom, and Curtis' adventures with them 2 years or so ago). I recall Tom running over & grabbing Curtis before whatnot pulled him out to sea.
But they will be on 2 trotlines (36 hooks each) & about 14 -->> 2 hook juglines, not R-n-R. I did find recently, if you don't use the gummy worms, you can always snack on them. They weren't as sour as I thought they might be. Speaking of them, the brand was Trolli Sour Bite Crawlers. The value size bag is 28.8 ounces worth currently about $8 or $9 for a big bag,
What is the brand of gummi worms? Of course I have to catch up on the crawlers 1st, before I go for the gunmmy bears. I still have the firsat big bag that says best by May 2021. I've gone thru two other bags in April & May. Talking about me, not the fish.
Hmm, generic gummy bears. What flavor?

My catch was on the sour bite crawlers. Red and orange if I am remembering correctly.
