What made the original MLF great was showcasing the entertaining personalities.
On TV, I would rather watch Andy Morgan and Wesley Strader talking and cracking jokes for hours whether they were catching or not.

MLF has 13 1/2 hours coverage on Outdoor channel this weekend and 13 1/2 hours next weekend ...and i believe they have 6 1/2 hours TV exposure every weekend....that is worth a lot to each one of their fishermen and their sponsors...

They are just doing what they set out to do, protecting their own. Same reason why Duckett won’t get kicked out at the end of the year, he’s protected. You own it, you can do what you want.

I will argue that statement just because lol but I don't think BPT is the stronger of the 2, I do believe they have more big names yes since they have been around for years … But I believe those bigger names (besides Wheeler, DC, and a couple others) are getting surpassed by these younger guys on the Elites across the board. I think if you take the top 40 from the BPT and top 40 for Elites for 1 tournament, the Elites outshine the BPT. Just my personal thought.

MLF now cuts the bottom 10% on performance every year, they will grow in field strength over BASS if BASS continues to only do a cut every 3rd year.

Great article. Duckett has had the Midas touch, good for him. Helps fuel the fire for the haters to keep hating, as you can read here in spades (same 6 or so it seems complain about 'you name it').
DC and Ebare, great young sticks, and now Jacob Wall. Both circuits you can learn from, but MLF seems even more overall. I do like the Bassmasters use of the window showing the FFS on the TV screen, beats looking at guys staring down on their screens describing what they are seeing, wish MLF would to that.

I don't hate MLF, but I'm tired of watching their show and don't watch it anymore unless it is a local lake. I don't watch too many regular fishing shows anymore either, they've all become infomercials.

I watch Let's Fish Southwest and Honey Hole Outdoors and that is about it. And some Elite and BPT coverage.

Any ranking without Palaniuk or Jason Christie in the top 10 doesn't have much credibility IMO.....

Could look at Lake Murray weights as a comparison. Clearly day to day fishing varies....top 10 weights for each event are what they are though. MLF was there closer to pre-spawn/spawn vs. spawn/post-spawn BASS experienced. BASS larger field and more people on the water each day.

Top 10 weights better by BASS guys, top MLF weights would have had maybe 2 or 3 spots in the top 10, and none close to the BASS winning weight.

It's an impossible argument to "win" or "lose", kind of fun tho...bottom line is both have great anglers, both have middle of the road anglers, both have over the hill guys that need to go.
