I went out to work on my motor (2009 225hp yamaha vmax 2 stroke) and first started to take apart the back panel but stopped because I need to order a pepopp valve kit and no seance in leaving everything apart till part arrives so went ahead and replaced the fuel filter. I disconnected the wire attached at the bottom and when finished reattached it. Now I have no power to boat. Any ideas on what the heck I did and how to get my power back? Appreciate any help

Did you disconnect the ground on the battery first? Check the main power fuse on the motor.

Where would the kill switch be located? Im running lithium batteries and sure they are not dead. I didn't disconnect anything and do you know where the main fuse is located on motor?

Make sure whatever you disconnected, isn’t loose hopefully the positive and negative didn’t touch each other while you were working on it

Does your lithium battery have an app, so you can make sure it didn’t go to sleep? Or you could test it with a volt meter.

I keep my boat in storage and won't be able to check till in morning. Not sure if batteries have app but for now just trying to get ideas on what to troubleshoot.

Fuse box is on the starboard side of the motor. I would check voltage on the battery first since you didn't disconnect the ground before working on it.

I plan to check that. Is there anything else to look into or comes to mind?

Try removing the Positive wires from the battery and wait about a minute and re-install. If it has protection built in it most likely cut it off and needs to be reset.

Yes. Step one should be checking the battery voltage.

Not sure the brand on batteries but I disconnected the positive on battery and recommend after a minute. The whole boat has power except the tilt trim. Fuses look good too. When I hit the tilt trim switch I here a double clicking noise.
