UPDATE: I was able to reach the appraiser and asked them how they came up with that total. She began to ask me what all my trailer did and didn’t have. By the time she was done she was like, oh wow…your trailer is worth a lot more. So all is good now. Trailer will be fixed and I will be able to retain insurance on it.

You can change insurance companies anytime you want. Plenty of companies will insure your trailer so don't worry about that. Boat claims don't follow you like Home or Auto claims...yet.
