I need to get some touch-up paint for rock dings on my 2012 GMC Searra Pickup.
Anybody know how to get the color code from the VIN, or the hidden color code. Where is that, and how do I recognize the color code number?
I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.

Paint code is on a sticker underneath the hood I’d listen to this guy. Also should be on the sticker inside the driver side door jamb.

Paint code is on a sticker underneath the hood I’d listen to this guy. Also should be on the sticker inside the driver side door jamb. Yeah that is where I have seen it on our Toyotas (inside driver side door jamb).

Paint code is on a sticker underneath the hood I’d listen to this guy. Also should be on the sticker inside the driver side door jamb. They are in the door or under hood. On GM's they are on the same sticker that shows how many liters the engine is if I recall correctly.

Take the easy way. Just give your local GM dealer a call with your VIN.

No luck so far.
I don't suppose that when I find it, it will say something like "This is the Color Code ...."

Go to Rock Auto. Put in all the information about your car. It will
give you all the colors and you should find it there.

I hope it’s not white. There are 3 or 4 variations with the same paint number
I fish on the edge and stay out of the middle

I just PM'ed BillyS2006 and Brian Spagnola.
Yes it is a white. But it's one of those kinda creamy whites with very small metal flake.
I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.
