Anyone have experience with mounting a side imaging transducer on a pontoon? Would like to put it on the back of the right side toon on the plate that is there. I was thinking though that the motor will interfere with the transducer shooting to the left. I know I could mount it to the trolling motor, but really prefer to have it at the back of the boat. I guess I could trim the motor up to avoid it being in the way, but would rather hear from anybody that has a pontoon or any other boat with a side imaging transducer, if this is even a problem, or it is no big deal and it will work either way.

I have a Lowrance 3 in 1 on my pontoon mounted on plate, it works fine with no interference.

As a general rule for structure Scan you need a clear space the length of the transducer on both sides to have an unobstructed view. If its close and tilting up your motor clears if up then that may be your only alternative. Take a string tie to bracket go to the same place on the other pontoon and see what it hits motor ete ete.
