Depends what you thin scenic is. I'm not a fan of lakes with alot homes on the lake. Was on Livingston this past weekend and there is some cool places on that lake.

I agree with "upper end of Buchanan". you get huge cliffs with waterfalls with no sign of human life anywhere

Amistad is beautiful but if you really want to see it's beauty go up the Rio Grande and into the Pecos River about 7 miles. with it's crystal clear water and huge boulders in the middle of the river, sheer cliffs and not to mention all the ancient pictographs but most importantly the excellent fishing. Too bad it's been so low for the past few years you can't even launch at the Pecos high bridge ramp.

Only way is to kayak up from the high bridge or kayak downriver from Pandale but thats a looong paddle. We need rain!
