Eastern Oklahoma has some great fishing lakes. Eufaula, Grand, Tenkiller, Hudson and a bunch more. I just wish OK would stop sending all that wind our way.

If I could make the same living I do now I would live by Lake Eufala in a heart beat.

Was there last week, and frankly, the fishing is better.

You have to be able to spell it to live there, that’s the rule.

The part you drive over never really clears up except in the winter, sometimes. It’s a massive lake, the Porum and Longtown areas are a lot clearer than what you see from the road. Very good crappie lake, it’s my favorite bass lake in Oklahoma but just because there’s a chance at an absolute giant smallmouth and it fishes shallow year round.

Definitely one of the best fishing lakes in the state.

Although it’s not quite that far North my son will be attending school at OSU in the fall so I guess I will learn the area. There didn’t seem to be much to see around Stillwater but he loved the school on our visit. I have spent a lot of time in the northwestern part of the state (family place near Moreland) but not the eastern part.

Lake Carl blackwell and lake Mcmurtry are both good. Tulsa and okc are equally close. Check out the hideaway for great pizza. Go pokes!

We used to always go to Sooner Lake the most. Back then it was a power plant lake, had a warm side and cold side. Had some absolute toads, too. We would also walk the mile just south of the lake to fish the discharge. Caught big hybrids up to 10lbs heaving Little Georges out in the current. It was a blast. Also, we seined for perch at the spillway of Carl Blackwell and then would fish in the deep pools in the creek below. Caught giant flatheads and had enough fish to last a whole semester of eating. The sand bass run was epic in the creek, too. We were broke as broke can be back in college, so a freezer full of flatheads and sandies were a delicacy to us.

I have family in Bixby, Jenks, Broken Arrow, Tahlequah, Pryor and the list goes on forever as my Mom was the youngest of 13 kids.
If it hits the fan down here, I have multiple places in Northeastern Oklahoma to run to. Beautiful country for sure.

About the only thing I dislike about Oklahoma is their football team, they always steal out Texas players lol. It is a very pretty state, lots of great hunting and fishing, and for the most part very friendly folks.

I have a lot a family up there too. Ones set of grandparents buried in Dustin, and one set buried in Wetumka, and my biological grandmother buried in Okie City. Lots of cousins still up there, last family reunion in Ada. I also have a sibling I never got to meet buried in Holdenville. My Grandfather buried in Wetumka moved to Oklahoma from Virginia before it was a state. Lots of family still there.
