If you are, I would like to enlist your help.. TPWD Is bringing two trailers full of baby bass to stock.. About 200,000..

I'm looking for some boats to help spread the fish out over the lake.. You do need good working livewells.. And some fuel..

But how often do you get to stock your favorite fishing spots? With Florida bass?

Long as they end up in Falcon I don't care where you put em..

If you're in the area and would like to help, PM or call me..

Fish should be here about 11-12 next WED the 3rd.. We will be scattering them from the county ramp..

More fish scheduled in the next two weeks..

I’d love to help but I’m out with the live well and have to work. Hopefully you can get some people. I’ll put the word out too and forward this thread to some.

So if they don't get enough people out, they dump at the ramp?

The timing looks good. In the past week the lake has gained miles of submerged grass and new brush around the shoreline. In addition, the massive flocks of birds that have been working over the fish in the area I have been fishing were not present the last few days. There are still enough snowbirds hanging on and locals here to help TPWD spread those Florida Strains around.

They are bringing a boat/boats to stock the fish.. But slow tubs with big water tanks that don't usually go too far and certainly not fast..

We cover a lot more ground with bass boats.. And dispersing the fish over a large area just makes a lot of sense..

We have a ton of cover in the water for the first time in years..

Should be a great time for stocking since the lake is at the highest it's been in 3 years!

Just got through spreading out 250,000 baby bass from the Veleno to the Tigers..
I think we had eight boats in all..

Special thanks to all who helped..

We're gonna do it again tomorrow on south end of the lake!

James,
I know your survival rate expectations are high.....care to share with all the new cover? Did PAW give you any real world rates?

I don't guess that anyone can give anything but a guess.. The old number always bandied about is that 5% make it to adulthood; that is old enough to reproduce..

I am sure the number varies greatly depending on cover, forage, water quality, predator populations etc..

But I will have to say that there is more green cover in the lake than I have seen in years.. A lot of years..

I haven't gotten a final guess on how many were released in total, but somewhere around 500,000 were estimated to be delivered..
250K on Wednesday were put out and I am not sure about yesterday..

Yesterday fish were stocked at Tigers and at state park..

But I gotta guess that if there is a good year for survival to be high, this would be it!
