What size spinning reel do you use on your ultralight setup?

I use 2500 sized(two of them on two different ultralight). It's the same body as the 1000 but with a bigger spool. The bigger spool releases line easier and I get more distance on casts.
I do have a 1000 but it's more of vertical jigging off a dock type deal. I also have a size 500 and it's more toy then a reel.

I recently removed some 6# mono and replaced it back with 6# braid.
The pole is already soft. Add that with the stretch on mono. The feeling of the rod gets bland. You'll start asking yourself if the hook is really set..... until the fish pulls.
With braid, combined with the ultralight action. You feel so much more. You can physically feel the drop weight hit the muddy bottom. The lightest bite. Mono leads to a feeling of WTF is going on.

1000 or 2000 size reel. My fave, for the money, Daiwa Legalis.
10 lb braid with 4 or 6 pound mono or fluorocarbon leader tied directly to braid. 8 feet long.

I'm usually casting a 2500 with 4lb mono. Occasionally I'll drop down to 2lb mono.
For the money, the pflueger president is hard to beat. Incredible drag system, smooth as butter!
