Using nothing but Limits Tackle jigs so far but I will tell you it is work getting mostly folks that never crappie fish or that have only used minnas to be successful catching crappie with jigs.
Getting folks to learn to entice crappie to commit to eating a jig is an art even for a experienced jig fisher, I've considered getting a minna cooler and using minnas on my guide trips but really don't want the hassle of keeping them alive nor chasing them to put them on the hook after each fish.
As this summer sets in I may be joining most other guides and making my job easier with using minnas....
Until then I'll just keep directing my clients to be successful with jigs.....
Here's a few pics of some recent catches down here on Lake Houston fishing anywhere from 8 to 12fow picking them out here and there. Our water temps is fluctuating from 64 to 71° and the thermocline is setting in really strong already and really working my Garmin 1243xsv w/lvs32 to show where those fish are hiding.....
I've got a few open days in May of you would like to get out and learn to utilize Garmin Livescope and get you a nice sack of fresh tasty crappie filets.
