The run at Lake Somerville was waiting on rain.. this is the same thing that happened in 2009.

Creek fishing probably wont be worn a dang for a few days and they will probably shut the gates at newman's again. Lake came over 3" last night. The area got hammered with that storm. I imagine the creeks are gonna be on a hard and fast rise, very muddy fast moving water. Catfishing ought to be good though

Muddy mess will help keep the whitebass in the creek a little bit longer and maybe a few more will make the run up... The rain.. it's a good thing...

Oh for sure. Lake it now over pool. Creek access is easy for most watercraft now.

Fished the main lake this morning. I got there before dark. There was lots of commotion but it ended up being mainly carp, buffalo and gar in the shallow submerged vegetation. The shad spawn is progressing slowly. I saw more actual spawning along the banks than I have to date this year. Still not trillions yet though grin

The fishing was disappointing as everything was perfect for a great day. But the fish never showed. I did end up catching 2 white bass and a hybrid. Catching 1 keeper sized hybrid on the fly always makes it at least a good day.

Fished Nails Creek today. I ended the day catching 28 white bass, 3 crappie and a goo. All but 4 were nice sized keeper fish. A couple of trophy white bass in the bunch too.

Fished nails up and downstream of county bridge yesterday morning. Struck out and got bit by lots of mosquitoes. May have seen some spawning activity but there were a lot of gar swimming around so hard to tell. Not much current. After tromping through waist high weeds and grass and slipping down muddy banks and swatting skeeters I got into some sow WB at the feeder creek down the road. Some caught on a variation of the magical clouser.
