I will be headed to Toledo Bend in May for a week of fishing. I've never been to Toledo before and am wondering where a good general area is to stay at and fish? Does it matter much? We are coming from west of the lake so someplace on the Texas side would be preferable, maybe the southern end but that's not necessary.
I'm taking my fishing boat that can cruise at 45-50 MPH to give an idea of range. It's a huge lake so I don't want to stay somewhere that is 10 miles away from the good fishing spots (if that is a risk). We want to rent a VRBO or AirBnB with a dock if that helps narrow down the location. Looking to bass fish mostly so don't need a party spot. A nearby grocery store would be good.
I've been searching and reading but it is always nice to get the latest intel.
Thanks in advance.

I would stay at Fin and Feather on the Texas side. From there you have easy access to Housen bay, Indian Mounds, six mile creek and Toro. There are some more good areas on both the Texas and Louisiana side. Good luck

We stayed at Paradise Point a couple of weeks ago. Very nice place. Have to stay in the boat lanes on the lake. It is full of timber. We were crappie fishing but had a great time. Good luck!!

Holly Park in Patroon is a nice place as well. Little less pressure in that area of the lake.

Did you go to Toledo Bend yet? If so, where did you stay? How was "catching"? What are "Hot lures" & FOW (depth)? I would APPRECIATE "catching" report because I leave tomorrow (5/22/23) for Toledo Bend & Staying at Fin & Feather. THANKS!!!
