Looking forward to it as Monday May 1st is my last day here. No more getting up at 3am other than to go fishing. They are trying to get me to stay, but they can't pay me enough to want to stay. I am so ready for this. Maybe even attend a TFF function every now and then. cheers

Reality. What a concept!

Now you can fish whenever you want to. Every day is a Saturday. I think the first thing I would do is get out of Houston.

Congrats! Do it while you still can and be active.

After a year of retirement, you will think...."How did I ever have time for work". Many have said, "Oh, you will be bored to death" and that is about as far from the real truth for me. The days just fill up with things to do. Plus I have about 10 hobbies and there is always something needs fixin' or improvin'.

Best wishes for you!

Congrats…I love retirement and can always find things to do to keep me busy plus I fish a lot during the week rarely on the weekend anymore. My company did not want me to retire and a few weeks after I left called me wanting me to be a consultant. I politely declined and told them if they needed any help or info just call me and I will tell them for free so far they have not called. Heck I worked 45 years straight in a high pressure position I was done.

I got a few calls within the first few months of retiring and kept a morbid curiosity about how things were going, but I’m 14 months in now and could not care one bit and have pretty much lost touch with all my old work buddies except for a couple

Congrats.

What do you do for a living, if you don’t mind me asking.

I plan to retire in October. Other than tournaments I probably won't fish on weekends anymore. The idiots and wakeboard boats can have the lakes on Saturday and Sunday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are always the best weather days, anyway.

I can't imagine not setting an alarm, but I bet I get used to the idea.

I don’t like doing anything in public on weekends, crowded anything sucks

Congrats, retired at 51 and I am itchy to get back into something. But, it's nice to be able to go fishing when the conditions are right and not around a work schedule.

Plus I enjoy fishing on Wednesdays a lot more than weekends, though I have been able to do that most my life.

Congratulations! Welcome to the club. I retired almost 5 years ago and don't fish on the weekends unless I'm fishing with my nephew. He's still a working guy.
